For a number of years while I  was on Armour, at least once or twice a week I would wake at 3am to within 5 minutes. Sometimes it would take me 2 hours to get back to sleep again.

Since I have been on T3 and have included a "bed time" dose my quality of sleep has greatly increased and if I get up in the night to go to the loo I fall asleep again quickly.

I also feel that the quality of my sleep is better and I normally wake feeling rested before my alarm goes off.

I couldn't tolerate a bed time dose of Armour but can T3. I find that taking it last thing before turning the light out works best for me.

The 3am wakening thing can also be low cortisol related  (updated 12/12)
